She is the President and founder of One Voice Insurance Services, an agency designed to serve California in 6 different languages. This idea was born as a result of her experience as Vice President of Emerging Markets-West Region for Blue Cross of California. In this position, Leonor was responsible for leading efforts internally and externally to develop education and business strategies focusing on penetrating ethnic and emerging uninsured markets. She is passionate about the cause of health care for Latinos and the uninsured. Having lived in Mexico for 28 years, she used her unique background and experience with ethnic markets in her work in the insurance industry, helping Blue Cross reach the diverse landscape of the communities it serves. She launched the Agent Incubator program to expand the base of agents with languages skills and Latino cultural insight as well as a pilot program to attract agent candidates who are disabled and bilingual. Licensed in Health & Life in all 50 states, Leonor lends broad expertise in the area of bicultural-bilingual outreach through her extensive marketing, advertising and communications experience in key U.S. and Latin American markets. Prior to joining Blue Cross, McCall-Rodriguez was president of Mira Promo, Inc., where she offered consulting for corporations seeking to expand business in Hispanic markets and in Spanish. She is also the founder of the Latino Speakers Bureau, which was created to promote successful Latino role models, spreading a message of diversity, hope and success. Her professional history includes VP of TV Promo International Group, an international advertising and promotion corporation; general manager of Walker Advertising, a full service ad agency; and marketing manager for La Opinion, the largest Spanish daily in the United States. She has also worked in consumer research, marketing, advertising and business development at PepsiCo Foods International, Gillette Mexico, and Allied Domecq, among others. Leonor has many certifications in her field and is an accomplished speaker, author and entrepreneur. She holds an MBA in Marketing Management from Universidad de Las Americas in Mexico City and a degree in Economics from UNAM Mexico. She was named one of Hispanic Business “2005 Elite Latinas” and also to the 2006 Latino Corporate Elite Directory of high-ranking Hispanics in Corporate America. She has received numerous awards for her community work and professional achievements, including The President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2008 and is a frequent speaker in the community on small business and niche marketing, women in business and health insurance topics.
